But I also really liked the plot of 3 and felt satisfaction in rescuing each friend as the game progressed. I also loved the tropical/island setting. Blood Dragon takes the open-world island of Ubisoft's 2012 shooter, squashes it into a single-player game (you don't need Far Cry 3 to play it) That's why you restart from the begining if you don't free the first garrison. 2) Outside of missions you have manual "saves" / "quicksaves" (F9). Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon doesn't need Far Cry 3 to play, its standalone. Campaign is quite short compared to Far Cry 3. Definitely not 100s of hours worth; I've around 13 hours so far and have obtained all gun upgrades, all skill levels, liberated all garrisons, and completed all sidequests.
