The build quality is very good albeit a touch below e.g. the FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS. The biggest difference between those two is that the FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS extends quite a bit (using a duo-cam system) when zooming towards the long end of the range. However, there's no wobbling whatsoever and the control rings operate smoothly.
KpAld. In many ways, a 70-200mm f/2.8 is a better portrait lens than an actual portrait lens! The Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master OSS is one seriously well-specced optic, with one double-sided XA (Extreme Aspherical) element, two other aspherical elements, four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, and two Super ED elements.
But what really sets the Sony FE 90mm F2.8 G Macro OSS apart is the execution of the lens. The great optical stabilizer allows for easy handheld macro shots like the one above, while the clever clutch mechanism allows one to either enjoy the fast, smooth autofocus from the DDSSM focus motor or have a silky smooth true manual focus experience.

Available since 2015 it is corrected for full-frame sensors but can equally be used on APS-C sensor cameras where it acts like a 36-360mm zoom lens on a full-frame sensor.
The FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS has three switches which adorn the side of the lens barrel. The first switch is a simple AF/MF switch. Next is the focus distance limiter which prevents the lens from focusing on anything closer than 3 meters. The last switch is an On/Off switch for the steady shot.
